I'm from BC's lower mainland, and I've always been inspired by its diverse landscape. I love the coolness of its forests, the air in the valleys, and the weepy green of the coast.
I love the images of decay in the city: the broken furniture in the alleys, the bits of grungy, white garbage pasted to the streets, and the colours of every neighbourhood. These moments can be naturally or accidentally beautiful; my art is an obsessive and constant attempt to capture them. I compose my paintings by breaking things down into graphic shapes, and overlaying them with colour and contrast.
